Q_012: When importing 3DS files into Bryce 3 or 4, the textures are not present. What's wrong?

Answer: We've noticed this and have discovered there is an issue with Bryce and its import code. To import the textures, do the following:

 

1. In the main Bryce window, go to the menu at the top and select OBJECTS --> EDIT 2D PICTURES.

2. In the Picture Editor window, click on a blank tile in the grid, then click on LOAD in the upper left corner (Load Into Selected Pic Image).

3. In the File Browser pop-up window, navigate to the folder that contains your texture maps and select one of them. Click OPEN. The texture map should now be loaded into the selected tile in the Picture Editor.

4. Follow steps 2-3 for each additional texture image to import.
