Q_014: I'm getting the error "<<...OLE_Obj...>>" when importing a 3DS file into AutoCAD 2002 using the 3dsin command. What's wrong?

Answer: We have not been able to determine the nature of the problem but there is a workaround. Open the 3DS file in question in any 3D conversion utility or 3D application (except for AutoCAD) that supports reading and writing 3DS files. Then, simply re-save the 3DS file. Open the newly saved file in AutoCAD 2002 and the error should no longer appear. If this does not work, contact us and we will provide you with a new 3DS file.
